Day 1: Kampala city tour

The driver will pick you up after breakfast at your hotel and brief you on the major sites you will see during this Kampala city tour.

The tour will start with a drive to the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine (where young Christians were burned by the monarch of Buganda for refusing to worship him, then continue to the Kasubi Tombs where the King of Buganda’s remains were interred, the Gadafi Mosque, an aerial view of Kampala, the Nommo Art Gallery, and other craft stores, as well as a drive through the city to see the parliament, the Independence Monument, and other landmark places.

 

Additionally, the driver will take you to the major taxi park and Owino Market so you can observe the commotion and masses of people waiting to board a taxi or conduct business. The driver will return you to your hotel, or you can choose to experience Kampala’s nightlife instead.
