14 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to Your Hotel
This 14 days Uganda safari tour starts the moment you land in Uganda. Our friendly guide will be waiting for you at the airport to receive you. He/she will then drive you to the nearby hotel around Entebbe for relaxation, dinner, and a night. Depending on the arrival of your flight, if arrives early in the day you might well decide to explore one or more of the nearby attractions. You can take a stroll through the beautiful Entebbe Botanical gardens to see indigenous bird species and watch Black- and –white colobus monkeys. Other places one can visit if not tired are Mabamba swamp to have a look at rare shoebill stork, Ngamba Island Chimpanze sanctuary at Lake Victoria, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre to learn and see Uganda’s native wildlife as well as visit the local markets to purchase souvenirs.

Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe to Lake Mburo via the Ugandan Equator line Kayabwe
Lake Mburo National Park is one of the best spots in Uganda for a walking safari. Have an early breakfast and leave for Lake Mburo National Park by 7.00 am. The park is situated about 240km along the Kampala – Mbarara highway and will take 3 to 4 hours of drive to get there. The en-route, stop at the Uganda Equator line at Kayabwe, whereby you can stand in the middle of the world with one leg in the Northern hemisphere while the other in the Southern and pose for a photo.
Lake Mburo is a pretty small game park covering only about 260 square kilometres. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savanna parks. There are five lakes in Lake Mburo National park which are home to hippos, crocodiles, and water birds, while the papyrus swamps provide cover for Sitatunga antelopes.
Despite the small size of the park, this scenic park harbours 68 mammals including leopards, jackals, hyenas, and buffalos and is home to 350 species of birds, this area is the only place in western Uganda where one can see impalas, zebras and gigantic Eland.
. After clearance at the park entrance transfer to your accommodation, drive along the game tracks and sight some game. Check-in at your accommodation, have lunch and refresh. Later you’ll head out for an afternoon Boat Ride on Lake Mburo. A relaxing ride of about 2 hours, expect sighting hippos, crocodiles, lots of birds and some game along the shores taking a drink. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive from Lake Mburo to Lake Bunyonyi National park after Morning game drive
After an early breakfast at 7:00am, you will join a local park ranger who knows the area better and search for giraffes, zebras, Elands, Impalas, Topis, Waterbucks, Bushbacks, birds much more on foot, there are no lions or elephants to worry about here.
After the nature walks, embark on 3 to 4 hours of about 260km to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is Africa’s second deepest lake. Set among the enormous Kigezi Highlands, Lake Bunyonyi is iconic for its serene and cool atmosphere, abundant birdlife, and surrounding green scenery of the terraced Kigezi Highlands. Its waters are Bilharzia Free hence safe for swimming. Check in at your accommodation for lunch, relaxation and overnight.

Day 4: Do a boat cruise and boat tour relaxation transfer to do Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable Forest National park.
After an early cup of tea, set out for a canoe ride on lake Bunyonyi the beautiful tropical gem of Kigezi highland where you will be blown away by the beauty and scenery of the lake, you will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise as you explore some of its famous 29 Islands.
After returning to the accommodation have lunch and check out and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of half of the world’s endangered Mountain Gorillas. The journey is about 1 to 2 hours approximately 70km long. Check-in your accommodation facility for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Wake up to an early breakfast, get your trekking attire on, pick your packed lunch and transfer to park headquarters by 7:30 am. You’ll gather with the rest of the trekkers for assigning of gorilla families and briefing on safe gorilla trekking from the rangers. Bwindi is divided into three gorilla trekking regions, that is; Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo. Each region harbors a number of gorilla families. Our guides help you to secure your gorilla permit for a particular region and on the tracking day the rangers divide and allocate the visitors to each gorilla family in that region, putting a number of factors into consideration such as the ability to track distant and challenging families. However no more 8 trekkers can be assigned to one gorilla family.
At around 8.00am trek begins through the dense rainforest filled with rare monkeys, exotic birds and butterflies. The gorilla trekking in this park can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas; it can be fairly strenuous as the trails can be steep, the humid air and the dense vegetation. But the effort is all worth it when you finally reach a family of rare and endangered mountain gorillas eating, playing, grooming and napping, their behaviors are so familiar to make you feel like you have known them all your life. It is an extraordinary and exciting moment to see the world’s largest living primates in their natural habitat.
After an hour with the gorillas, enjoy you packed lunch and transfer back to the park center where you will be awarded a Gorilla tracking certificate, afterwards check in your accommodation facility for dinner and a night

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park via Ishasha sector, the home of tree-climbing Lions
After breakfast head towards the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (ishasha sector).Take a game drive in search of rare tree-climbing lions that spend long lazy days dosing in the pretty fig trees. The Uganda knob which they watch from the branches, graze the plains and enjoy game watching, making sure to look out for buffalos, elephants, tope, and huge variety of birdlife. After short game head towards park center and check in for lunch and accommodation, dinner and for the night.
Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular savanna reserve with sprawling grassy hills dotted with sparking lakes set deep into the crater valley, Queen Elizabeth offers one of the most breathtaking scenery in Uganda. The park hosts a wide variety and volume of wildlife. The drive takes to 3 to 4 hours and approximately 130 to 200 km long. The park has a diverse range of landscapes from sprawling savannah, shady humid forests, sparkling lakes, and fertile wetlands, making it the ideal habitat for classical big game and over 600 species of Uganda birds.
Day 7: Kazinga channel Boat cruise
Wake up to an early cup of coffee and by 7:00 am you set off for the early game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. An early start offers a good chance of catching the elusive nocturnal and predators before retreating to their hideouts. Expect to view Lions, Leopards, Hyenas, Buffaloes, Elephants, Uganda Kob, Warthogs, Baboons, Jackals, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, grazing Hippos. Game viewing shall go on for about four hours before returning to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.
After lunch in the afternoon take a 2 to 4 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, a 32km long natural channel between Lake Edward and George the channel hosts Hippos, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, and Buffalos are common along the channel. Animals such as Elephants and Antelopes often come down to cool off, drink and eat the fresh grass along the channel. The Channel is literally a bird magnet! Among the common and conspicuous species include Pied and Malachite Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Cormorants, Skimmers, Saddle-billed Stork, and Pelicans among others. The cruise is probably one of the highlights of your 14 days Uganda safari tour, as you cruise past local fishing villages, soaking up the peaceful tranquility of this beautiful African day. After the boat ride head back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and night.

Day 8 &9: Transfer to Kibale Forest, have a chimpanzee trekking adventure in kibale forest and Bigodi community village walk.
Day 8: After early morning relaxed breakfast, set off on scenic drive of about 2 to 3 hours north to kibale Forest in distance of 120km, check in your accommodation facility for lunch depending the time of arrival.
At around 1.00pm you transfer to the Kibale Forest national park for briefing and guidance for an evening chimpanzee trekking experience. Then you head to the forest in search of wild chimpanzees on foot. Smaller than their gorilla’s cousins but no less charming, intelligent or expressive, chimps live in communities of up to 250 individuals. The chimps trekking experience isn’t as strenuous as the gorilla trek since the terrain is relatively flat and not very rough and the chimps do not get so distant. You are allowed up to 1 hour to watch these delightful apes as the play and squabble in the fruiting trees and you won’t help realizing how closely related they are to us humans. Trekking chimpanzees can take 1 to 6 hours and will be filled with all sorts of enchanting encounters. Kibale forest offers a 95% success rate seeing our distant cousins and you’re allowed to take as many photos as you wish. After one hour with the chimps you will return later in the evening to your lodge for dinner and the night.
Day 9: After having early relaxed breakfast later in the afternoon, you will go for a guided cultural walk in Bigodi village. Following the village path and visiting a primary school, traditional homesteads and listening to story-telling of mzees (elderly men). Later in the evening return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Transfer from Kibale Forest to Murchison Falls National park via Fort Portal, kisweka, Hoima for at least 7 hours and over 400km long, you arrive later in the evening check in a lodge for dinner and a night. Murchison Falls Park boasts over 70 mammal species including four of the big 5, more than 470 bird species and spectacular scenery, the park is Uganda’s oldest, largest and one of its best game parks.
Here river Nile the world’s longest river bisects flourishing savannahs flanked by lush woodlands, before bursting through a tiny gap in the Rift valley escarpment to form the world’s strongest waterfalls, the dramatic Murchison Falls.
Day 11: Game drive in murchision falls national park
After an early cup of tea set off for an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park exploring the scenic savannah grasslands on the park’s northern section before as you watch beautiful sunrise and later take walk in search of Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Uganda Kob, Oribi, Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Leopard, Hyena, Giraffe, and Hippos together with the parks rangers as guiders.
You can also have opportunity to watch some special bird species such as Pel’s fishing Owl, saddle-billed Stork, Goliath Heron, Ground Hornbill, Great Blue Turaco as well as have a lucky glimpse of rare prehistoric-looking shoebill Stork After several hours of wonderful game viewing return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, dinner and for the night.
Day 12: Hiking to the top of murchison falls.
have a leisurely breakfast in the morning afterwards take hiking experience to the top of the Murchison Falls to see the world’s strongest waterfalls from different perspective and witnessing the magical waterfalls. The hike offers the best experience of the Murchison Falls and incredible picture moments. When you get to the top the driver shall be there waiting for you and thereafter transfer to your lodge for lunch
After having lunch in the afternoon, take a thrilling a 3 hour boat ride or cruise on the mighty river Nile, while watching gigantic crocodiles slip beneath the waves and pods of hippo grunt and jostle. Watching countless water birds before stopping for a short distance from the bottom of the falls. The Nile squeezes through a small cleft of only 7 meters wide and explodes into the world’s strongest waterfalls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

After arriving check in lodge for Lunch before setting off for a 2 hour rhino tracking adventure on foot in the company of an expert local ranger guide. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is only place in Uganda where you can track, see, photograph and film Rhinos in their natural habitat, after the activity you return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
