6days uganda wildlife and primate safari detailed Itinerary
Day1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park
After breakfast at your hotel or residence, you will be picked up by our safari guide and taken on a 7-8 hour journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Kampala-Masaka Highway in southwest Uganda. Your first stop will be at the Uganda Equator crossing at Kayabwe Trading Centre for incredible photos and water experiments to demonstrate the geographical division of the northern and southern hemispheres.
From Kayabwe, continue on the road past Lukaya, a popular stop for Muchomo (grilled pork) vendors, and Masaka town before arriving in Lyantonde. You will make yet another stop at the Igongo Cultural Center for a traditional lunch.
After lunch, continue your journey through the Kigezi Highlands, sometimes known as the “Switzerland of Africa,” arriving at the park in the evening to check into the lodge for leisure, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa trail experience
After an early breakfast, you will meet your driver guide and proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and guidelines of gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek then enter into the forest to begin your trek with an experienced park guide. Because gorillas like to roam from one location to another in search of food, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can take anything from 30 minutes to 6 hours.
During the trek, you can expect to see other primate species, birds, and plants, when the mountain gorillas are found, you are permitted to spend an hour with them in their natural surroundings to learn more about their behaviors and habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, and groom young ones, take photos, and record the moments to show people back home after the safari.
After an hour with the gorillas, you will return to the starting area, where you will be awarded a certificate for your participation in gorilla trekking, and later link up with your driver guide to travel to the hotel for leisure.
In the evening, you embark on a guided community walk on the Batwa path in Bwindi to learn about the livelihoods of the local inhabitants. You will visit a traditional herbalist to learn how they prepare native medicine to cure a wide range of human illnesses, a blacksmith to see how he makes local items needed in everyday life, and a brewery to see how local beer is created using traditional methods. Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park with the game drive via the Ishasha sector
After an early breakfast, check out of the resort and meet your driver guide for the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest protected area. The drive takes roughly 3 to 4 hours. Enjoy a wildlife drive through the Ishasha sector, where you will see tree-climbing lions lying up in acacia/fig tree branches, as well as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hippos, and other bird species.
After the wildlife drive in the Ishasha area, you will have lunch on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will check into the lodge for supper and sleep.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga channel
After a hot cup of Ugandan tea, take a wildlife drive into the savannah plains of the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Kasenyi region. Kasenyi is also one of the most beautiful regions of the park, especially before daybreak, when the first rays of sunlight fall over the savannah.
An early game drive increases your chances of spotting nocturnal and predator animals before they retreat to their hideouts. It is feasible to see lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kob, warthogs, baboons, jackals, waterbucks, bushbucks, and grazing hippos. Return to your hotel for leisure and lunch after the game drive.
After lunch, take a 2- to 4-hour boat ride on the 32-kilometer-long Kazinga Strait, a natural strait that separates Lake Edward and George. Along the channel, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and buffalos, all of which are common here. Elephants and antelopes frequently descend to the channel to cool off, drink, and consume the young grass.
The Pied and Malachite Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Cormorants, Skimmers, Saddle-billed Stork, and Pelicans all visit the Channel. As you sail by tiny fishing communities enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful African day. Return to your lodge later in the evening for dinner, leisure, and overnight.

Day 5: Morning transfer to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk
Wake up to a cup of tea in the early morning, then drive one and a half hours to Kibale national park headquarters for an instructional session on the rules and guidelines of chimp trekking then into the forest to trek the chimps with the park guide who is familiar with the forest’s pathways.
Trekking with chimps in Kibale National Park might take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours. Afterward, you will enter the forest in search of chimps, while also seeing other wildlife species such as butterflies, birds, plants, primates, and mammals.
Once the chimps are located, you will be able to spend an hour with them in their natural environment, observing their behaviors and habits, as well as seeing them feed, breastfeed, play, hunt, fight, rest, snap photos, and record movies with a flashless camera.,you will rejoin your driving guide and proceed to the resort for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on an interesting nature walk in Bigodi sanctuary, where you will see various primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, Locoest monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, mammals such as bushbucks and Sitatungas, and various bird species such as the great blue turaco, green breasted pitta, papyrus gonolek, and colorful butterflies. After the swamp walk, you’ll return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight
Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala for departure flight
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to travel to Kampala via the Fort Portal to Kampala route, with a lunch stopover along the way. Then proceed to Kampala, where you will arrive in the early evening. Our driving guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled departure flight or accommodation, effectively ending your safari.
