Mount Bisoke has the distinctive conic shape of a “perfect” volcano, with a deep crater lake. The great elevation of 3710m of Mount Bisoke requires extra power from climbers, and the entire journey can take anywhere between 5 and 6 hours, depending on the speed of the trek and the frequency of stops. The ascent usually takes about three hours. During the climb, you will pass through a variety of vegetation environments, beginning with bamboo forests and progressing to Hagenia, Hypericum forest, and lastly Senecio, Lobelia bush near the peak.
Expect to see the gorgeous Crater Lake on top of the volcano once you reach the summit. Aside from the Crater Lake at the summit, the nearby terrain is also worth seeing. Wonderful views of the other Virunga mountain ranges, the volcanoes national park, Virunga National Park, Mgahinga National Park, and the Rwenzori Mountain may be seen from the peak. Once you’ve had your fill of the breathtaking views from the peak. Descend to the starting point, where the driver will meet you and transport you back to the hotel for leisure, dinner, and overnight.

During this visit, you will learn about the production of honey, from the construction of the bee hive to the harvesting of fresh honey. Since you are well safeguarded by the bee keeper’s suit, you shall be able to harvest honey. Beekeeping has been practiced in Rwanda for many generations, according to inherited patterns. However, the activity has primarily been traditional and subsistence in character, with honey being used as a food product for the home, medicinal, and traditional liquor manufacturing.
