This 3-day Lake Mburo national park safari takes you to Uganda’s smallest grasslands park for an incredible encounter with some of Africa’s famous fauna species both animals and birds such as Zebras, Giraffes, Caped buffaloes, Leopards, spotted hyenas, Impalas, some primates, Warthogs, hippopotamuses, bush pigs, crocodiles, waterbucks, reedbucks, Eland, sitatunga, side-striped jackals, white-tailed mongoose, otters, among others. The detailed itinerary of this safari
Day 1: Pickup from your residential place or hotel and transfer to Lake Mburo national park, do an afternoon game drive
After an early breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up from your Kampala or Entebbe hotel or home and take you on a 4-5 hour journey to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda, south of the equator. During the journey, you will stop at the Kayabwe equator, one of the most famous and well-known landmarks in the world, to witness an amazing water experiment on both ends of the world, take some remembrance photos when one leg is standing in the Northern Hemisphere and another in the southern hemisphere, and then continue with the drive via several stretches of papyrus swamps and multiple ranches of the long-horned Ankole cattle. Continue to Igongo Cultural Museum for lunch and refreshments. Explore the amazing museum, which represents one of Uganda’s richest legacies with the past and customs of the Ankole people and southwest Uganda that will take you generations back in time.
After lunch, drive to the park and check into your booked lodge to spend the rest of the afternoon unwinding and getting ready for evening and night game drives where you will see a variety of wildlife species including African caped Buffaloes, Giraffes, a high concentration of Zebras, Warthogs, Elands, Impalas, and some primate species, Leopard, among others, as well as a variety of bird species. Lake Mburo serves as one of Uganda’s top savannah national parks for night game drives in pursuit of nocturnal wildlife species such as porcupine, the elusive leopard, white-tailed mongoose, and bush baby, among others. Return to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Lake Mburo
Prepare for an early morning game drive along the Kazuma track by waking up early enough to have your tea. The Kazuma route provides breathtaking views of the park, including rolling hills. During this morning game drive, you will drive through deeper parts of the park in search of sightings of Zebras, Eland, water bucks, bushbucks, warthogs, impalas, Klipspringer, and other animals, as well as night creatures and predators such as hyenas, leopards, and jackals. After that, return to the resort for lunch and some rest.
After lunch and a short rest, you will be driven to Lake Mburo for an afternoon 2-hour boat cruise during which you will see several water mammals such as Hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, otters, and other land mammals such as Zebras and Buffaloes, among others, as well as numerous birds such as the African grey hornbill, the African fin foot, Common Scimitar bill, Brown Parrot, fish eagles, Crested Francol. After the boat ride on Lake Mburo, return to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Quad biking, guided nature walk, horseback ride, village walk and transfer to Kampala
Get up early and eat breakfast before heading out for another fascinating encounter with the park’s fauna. You will be able to choose the activity to participate in. You may go on a walking safari, a birding safari, a fishing safari, a cycling safari, a quad biking safari, or a horseback safari. Lake Mburo is Uganda’s only park where you can go on a horseback safari, a quad biking safari, a mountain bike safari, or a walking safari.
Following these activities, you shall be taken back to your hotel for lunch before embarking on the drive back to Kampala with a stopover at Mpigi Royal Drum Makers, where large ceremonial drums used by the Kingdom of Buganda are made if time permits, upon arrival you will be dropped off to the hotel in Kampala or to the airport in Entebbe for your scheduled flight back home, bringing this safari to a close.
