Embark on a thrilling 7-day Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park adventure in Uganda where you will be able to view animals like elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, giraffes, hippos, waterbacks, bushbacks, Uganda kobs, hyenas, rhinos, crocodiles, jackson’s hartebeest among others during the game drives and boat cruise. The 7 days Murchsion Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour will also take you to Kibale Forest National Park also known as the primate capital in the western part of Uganda where you will get a chance to spend time with chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Murchison Falls
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport, you will be given a warm welcome by one of our driver guides who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Murchsion Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and along the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and then continue the journey with a stopover for lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to the park and upon your arrival, you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will have breath taking views of the water falls and the beautiful scenery. After here, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Heritage Safari Lodge or Red Chili Rest Camp.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive where you will be able to view animals such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes grazing in the savannah plains with due, view predators like hynas, lions, leopards before going back to their hiding areas views different bird species. Return to your lodge for lunch
After lunch in the afternoon, you will go for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls taking 2 to 3 hours. In the afternoon, experience the power of the Nile River on a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where the mighty river plunges dramatically through a narrow gorge. During the boat cruise, you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in water, view animals like elephants, buffalos, warthogs, antelopes along the water banks. You will view water birds species like fish eagles, kingfisher, and cormorants to mention but a few. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay Heritage Safari Lodge or Red Chili Rest Camp.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale Forest National park. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the traditional homesteads, local people, and beautiful scenery, views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Crater lakes, and tea plantations. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest guest house or Isunga lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzees tracking and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred by your driver guide to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After your briefing, you will be grouped into 6 people. Chimpanzee is an interesting activity that starts at 8:00 am and take about 4 hours depending on where the chimps are located since they prefer moving from one place to another in search for food especially during the dry season. During trekking, you will be able to see other primates like the red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, view some bird species, mammals, plant species among others. Once the chimps are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their habitat, watch them feed, play, fight, hunt, mate, take photos and record their moments. After that, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for swamp walk in Bigodi wetland where you will be able to view primates like grey checked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, I’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkeys, view different bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest guest house or Isunga lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, stop at the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Embark on a game drive, and with some luck, witness these remarkable felines perched atop ancient fig trees. You will enjoy great views of the crater lakes, tea plantations and upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge for lunch where after you will go for an afternoon game drive where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas among others. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari cottages, Elephant Hub lodge or Kyambula Gorge lodge.
Day 6: Morning Game drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive or a lion tracking experience in kasenyi plains. During the game drive, you will have great views of animals like buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, giant forest hog, elephants, bushbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, and different bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an exciting boat cruise which is carried out on Kazinga channel, a 40km long channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The boat starts at around 2:00 pm and rewards you with breath taking views of large concentration of hippos, crocodiles in water. Views of elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the shores, water birds like kingfisher, fish eagles, hornbills, bee-eaters. You will return to your lodge for an evening relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Pumba Safari cottages, Elephant Hub lodge or Kyambula Gorge lodge.
Day 7: Morning game drive and Departure
After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to go for a short morning game drive to view some animals that you might have missed in the precious day. You will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with lunch en route. Have a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos and buy souvenirs. Upon arrival in Kampala, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your depature flight.
