Detailed itinerary of the safari tour
Day 1: Pick up from the airport and a transfer for Birding at Lake Magadi
Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will meet up with you and brief you about your 8 Days Kenya Birdwatching Safari. Later you’ll be transferred on a 2-hour drive journey to Lake Magadi located in the southern part of Kenya for an amazing birding safari in the lookout for various bird species. Upon arriving at Lake Magadi, expect to encounter bird species like Grey-capped Social-Weaver, Cut-Throat, Northern Crombec, White-bellied Canary, Blue-capped Cordon leu, Crimson-rumped Waxbill, Grey Wren Warbler, Banded Perizoma, Von der Dicken’s Hornbill, Fischer’s Sparrow-Lark, Grey-headed Silverbell, Red-fronted Tinkerbird, Straw-tailed Whydah, Taita and others. You shall then return to Nairobi where you’ll check in the lodge for dinner and overnight rest

Day 2: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha
Have a hearty morning breakfast and embark on another journey from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha for an exciting birding activity as you enjoy en route views of the great rift valley along the 2-hour drive journey. You shall then arrive at the lake in time and proceed for a bird walking safari on the search for over 400 bird species that inhabit in the surrounding of freshwater lake. Expect to encounter birds like Cormorants, Pink Backed Pelicans, Herons, Goliath Heron, Jacana, Great White Egret, White Fronted Bee-eater, Saddle-billed Stork, colorful Kingfishers, and Fish Eagles among others. After birding at the lake, you’ll be transferred for another amazing birding adventure at Hell’s Gate National Park where you shall gain views of birds like Nyanza swift, Red-winged starling, Schawlow’s wheatear, Verreaux’s eagle, White-rumped swift, yellow bishop, Yellow-rumped seedeater, African kestrel, Arrow-marked babbler, Chin spot Batis, Egyptian vulture, Golden-winged sunbird, Eastern imperial eagle, Jackson’s widowbird, Bearded vulture, Mottled swift. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
On the third day of the safari, you’ll have a morning breakfast and commence on a 155-kilometer journey to Lake Nakuru National Park which is taken as the best World ornithological spectacle on Earth by avid birders. The Park is also well known for being an inhabitant to millions of pink flamingoes as well. Upon arriving at the park, you’ll check in to the lodge, have lunch and proceed for bird watching safari along the shores of the lake. While at the lake, expect to encounter bird species like Cliff Chat, Greater Flamingoes, Tawny Eagles, Green Wood Hoopoes, African fish Eagle, Great White, Pink Backed Pelicans including other animals species like Black Rhino, White Rhino, and the Rothschild Giraffe. You shall return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and rest.

Day 4: Full day Birding in Lake Nakuru National Park
After having breakfast, you’ll head to the park for a full day birding activity on the search for bird species such as Arrow-marked babbler, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Bateleur, European roller, Black-tailed godwit, Black-winged lapwing, Brimstone canary, Brown-backed scrub robin, Crab-plover, Eastern imperial eagle, Grey crowned crane, Grey-headed woodpecker, Long-tailed widowbird, Great snipe, Pallid harrier, Hildebrandt’s starling, White-headed vulture, Kenya rufous sparrow, Lappet-faced vulture, Lesser flamingo, Lesser kestrel, Abyssinian thrush, Greater spotted eagle, , Maccoa duck, Northern puffback, Red-capped lark, Rufous-throated wryneck, Ruppell’s vulture, Schawlow’s wheatear, Shining sunbird, Slender-billed greenbul, Ruppell’s robin-chat, Sooty falcon, Speke’s weaver, Western reef heron, White-fronted bee-eater, Montane white-eye and many more. On your lucky day, you’ll also see the shy cat (the Leopard) and other wildlife animals too. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer from Lake Nakuru National Park to Lake Baringo National Park
Wake up, have a morning delicious breakfast, and embark on a 2-hour transfer journey to Lake Baringo for a supreme walking birdwatching safari. Lake Baringo is a freshwater lake with numerous species of birds like Brimstone Canary, Little Weaver, Goliath Heron, Bristol Crowned Starling, Jackson’s and Hemp Rich’s Hornbill, White Faced Scopes Owl, and others. You will arrive in at the lake in time and descend down towards the cliffs in search of the various bird species around the lake such as mouse collared tit, Black throated barbet, ostrich, guineafowl, grebes, pheasants, Somali fiscal, little weaver, fox kestrel to mention but a few. You will later return to the lodge, check in, have dinner, and a night’s rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Samburu National Reserve
Have a leisurely breakfast and proceed on a 380-kilometer transfer to Samburu national reserve. The national reserve is mainly consisting of dust-red plains, endless skies, and palm-fringed rivers. The reserve is located at the peripheries of the vast arid desert with heat-scorched scrublands stretches that extend to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana. Samburu National Reserve is home to birds such as Golden Breasted Starling, Somali, white-throated bee-eaters, Donaldson-Smith’s Sparrow Weaver, Vulturine guinea fowl, White-headed Mousebird, golden pipit, Black-capped Social Weaver, Buff Crested Bustards among others. After arrival, you will check in to the lodge for relaxation as you await dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 7: Full-day birding in Samburu National Reserve
On this day, you will wake up, have breakfast, and proceed to the national reserve for a full day of experience gaining bird watching activity. You shall encounter multiple bird species like Donaldson-Smith’s sparrow-weaver, Reich now’s seedeater, Fischer’s starling, Golden pipit, Golden-breasted starling, Greater kestrel, Grey wren-warbler, Hunter’s sunbird, Lanner falcon, Mariqua sunbird, Northern brown bull, Spotted palm-thrust, Palm-nut vulture, Pygmy Batis, Red-bellied parrot, Red-winged lark, Rosy-patched bush-shrike, Secretary bird, Chestnut weaver, Singing bush lark, Somali ostrich, Acacia tit, Bare-eyed thrush, Pink-breasted lark, African palm swift, Ashy cisticola, Black-bellied sunbird, Red-necked falcon, Black-capped social weaver, Brown-tailed rock chat, Somali bee-eater, Chestnut-headed sparrow lark, and others. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening head back for an animal viewing game drive to spot animals like elephants, giraffes, hippos, Zebra, and more. After the drive, you shall return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport for departure
On day 8 of the birding safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and embark on a transfer journey to Nairobi where you may decide to have a brief city excursion depending on your flight schedule before being dropped off at the airport for your departure.
