9 Days Rwanda Safari Adventure

This 9 Days Rwanda Safari Adventure will give you a great memory of Rwandan tour and you explore the hidden treasures of Rwanda in just 8 days You will be able to visit Rwanda’s parks that is; Nyungwe National Park, Volcanoes National Park, adding in a visit to Lake Kivu to spice up your stay and Akagera National Park for wildlife without forgetting Lake Ihema. You will as well be able to interact with the local community as you go by your day activities.  You will well be able to do both gorilla and golden monkey trekking which is a life time adventure

Day 1: Arrival – Airport Transfer

You begin your magical holiday as you board your fight to Rwanda, a country of a thousand hills. Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will receive a worm welcome from one of our collegues (Naturenest Safaris), who will transfer you to your hotel. Depending on arrival time you can do a city tour, in which you can visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and the old city of Kigali. Overnight stay and dinner at Serena hotel (Luxury hotel), or Hotel des Mille Collines (Midrange hotel) or Quiet Haven Hotel (Budget facility) on Half Board. Meal plan: Lunch & dinner

Day 2: Kigali to Nyungwe National Park

Wake up early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and checkout from the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with a lunch en-route. You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe National Park in about 5 hours’ drive. You will have a relaxation in the afternoon at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard lodge) on Full Board basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinne

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy walk

Today, after your early morning cup of coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having more than 13 species of primates. You will be transferred to the park for briefing and then start off with chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees after this activity, head for lunch before another activity which is, the canopy walk. This 70 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a luck day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the evening for dinner and overnight stay on Full Board at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard lodge) on Full Board basis. Day 4: Lake Kivu for Boat ride – nature walk

After a relaxed morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu, to catch up with the beautiful sun rise over the Lake Kivu. You will take a boat ride to explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. After having lunch, you will have a nature walk at one of the islands of this lake which is well known for harboring thousands of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise since it hosts a number of bird species like the comrand, pied king fishers, weaver birds, heron to mention but a few. You will later return to checkout from your hotel and transfer to Musanze which is roughly a 3 hours’ drive. Musanze is a tourism area near Volcanoes National Park, where most of the lodges are located since there are no lodges inside of the park. Dinner and overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (midrange lodge) or The Garden Palace Hotel (Standard lodge) on Full board Basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Visit

Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a full hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. This experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this tracking experience you will return to your lodge relaxation in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (midrange lodge) or The Garden Palace Hotel (Standard lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 6: Golden Monkey and Cultural Visit

Today after you warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off you day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though not so hectic like gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, get ready for a village visit, to explore the indigenous local life with a taste of the traditional performance at Iby Iwacu cultural center.  Dinner and overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (midrange lodge) or The Garden Palace Hotel (Standard lodge) on Full Board basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 7: Akagera National Park- Game drive

After an early morning breakfast by 5am, you will head to the impressive Akagera National Park, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah grassland and woodland in 4 to 5 hours’ drive passing via Rwanda city for a lunch stopover. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to rest of the country. Some of the wildlife you will expect to see include: Giraffes, Buffaloes and Elephants as well as a number of bird species. On reaching to the park, you will head for a game drive in search for wildlife throughout the park. Overnight and dinner at Ruzizi Tented Camp (Luxury lodge) or Akagera game lodge (Midrange hotel) on Full Board. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch & dinner

Day 8: Boat Trip at Lake Ihema to Kigali City

Wake up early in the morning, have your breakfast faster to set off for an early morning boat trip at around 8:00am at Lake Ihema. Here, you will be able to see crocodiles and hippos, as well as sighting a number of bird species. Set off your journey from Akagera National Park moving towards the city center with a lunch stopover in Kigali. Visit Kimironko local market for shopping in the evening. Overnight stay and dinner at Serena hotel (Luxury hotel), or Hotel des Mille Collines (Midrange hotel) or Quiet Haven Hotel (Budget facility) on Half Board. Meal plan: Lunch & dinne

Day 9: Transfer to the Airport 

After getting done with your relaxed morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch up with your onward flight.
