This safari will provide you with the amazing experience of visiting and having a face-to-face interaction with the great Apes; The Mountain Gorillas of Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a world heritage site with the highest population of gorillas in the whole world and is located in Western Uganda. It is most notable for half of the world’s population of critically endangered mountain gorillas and this will be the highlight of our safari. Surely this safari will bring everlasting memories; see primates like Chimpanzees and monkeys, not forget a variety of wildlife you will watch all on the same safari. On top of this, enjoy the culture and beautiful scenery as you traverse the countryside.
Day 1:Arrival-Entebbe and mabamba visit
Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, probably the friendliest in Africa, you will be welcomed by our naturenestsafari staff and Guide , will drive you to the lodge, check in to the service o2friends beach hotel lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Your guide will briefly take you through your safari program. Depending on your arrival time, we shall head mabamba for the rare shoebill. We later come back at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2:Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Depart Entebbe, head for Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking and lunch stopover in Masindi. We enter the Park and visit the magnificent Falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile being forced into a seven-meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below and this can be viewed at different points up to the summit. Day3:Game drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison falls national park
After an early breakfast; tour the Northern section of Murchison with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, the leopards (if you are lucky) plus a variety of bird species.
Return to your accommodation for lunch as you prepare to have a launch trip to the base of the falls. This trip is said to be the highlight of the safari in Murchison falls since it allows you to get up close to the animal species within the water.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a three-hour launch trip to the base of the Murchison Falls. Cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles, bathing buffalo, and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls. You will have an opportunity to take thousands of pictures, so carry your camera with you if you like.
Day4:Transfer to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee
Leave Murchison Falls after an early breakfast and head for Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking with lunch enroute. This drive can take you about 5 to 7 hours but it mostly depends on nature of the road but you need not worry there will be plenty of stop-overs to take in beautiful views and also interaction with the communities leaving along the roads.
Day5: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience
the highlight of a day are Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk .Start the day with the sensational chimpanzee tracking in the heart of the Kibale Forest . The Park boasts the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in Uganda , providing sightings of chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and the black-and-white colobus monkeys on your guided nature walk. The chimpanzees will not be the only primates or wildlife that you will spot, but this is home to 12 other primates, the 350 plus species of birds, 200 plus primates and mammals that are found in the park. You will need a daypack, poncho or rain jacket, long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, hat, boots, packed lunch, water, and some snacks. Then in the afternoon after lunch, go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp which has many interesting birds. Rest at the campsite for dinner and overnight stay. overnight at kibale forest camp
Day6 :Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your morning breakfast drive through the great western Rift Valley’s Albertine escarpment to the southwest Uganda. Arrive at the Tooro kingdom’s capital, Fort Portal located in the shadows of the magical “mountains of the moon” -Rwenzori and have crater lake visit. We will drive to the explosion lakes and in the afternoon after lunch continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park and on your way to the lodge for dinner and overnight, enjoy the stunning scenery and seeing the wonderful sights as you drive to your Kasenyi Safari Camp/Engiri Game Lodge and Campsite
Day7: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat Cruise
After the morning breakfast we go for a game drive in the Kasenyi Kobs mating ground which is in the northern sector of this park. We are more likely to see waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, lions and warthogs in their nature habitat. The game viewing will be done alongside Lion Experiential. After lunch we go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, a natural channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This is a very interesting cruise because of the big numbers of animals and birds it offers. It also takes 2hours. Dinner and overnight Kasenyi Safari Camp/Engiri Game Lodge and Campsite
Day8: Ishasha game Drive for Tree Climbing Lions
After having the morning tea , embark on a game drive to the Ishasha plains for the home tree climbing lions plus a diversity of wildlife. The landscape in this sector is unique compared to that in other parts of Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s breathtaking seeing these lions lazily resting on tree branches targeting their prey and also protecting themselves from the ground insects. Enjoy an evening sundown drink in the wilderness. dinner and overnight stay at Ishasha wildness camp.
Day9: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga park
After your morning breakfast, you will drive south of the country through the rolling hills of Bwindi and scenic volcanic mountains arrive at the lodge overlooking the Bwindi Forest. And cross over to Mgahinga national park
Day10:Gorilla trekking adventure
In the morning, you will drive to mount Mgahinga park one of the volcanic mountains and a home to gorillas and golden monkeys commonly referred to as “where gold meets silver” after briefing you will head to the forest to track the gorillas once again. Later retire at the lodge with an epic view of lake mutanda and the volcanic mountain range.
Day11:Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
The day will be covered by boat crise and visiting the pygmies .After a relaxed breakfast, we transfer to Lake Bunyonyi with lunch en-route. Believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is a body of water in southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border, and one of the country’s top natural treasures. And, at 1,962m above sea level, the lake enjoys moderate temperatures year round, cool in both the mornings and evenings.This is a perfect place for relaxation and photography. Other optional activities include: swimming, boat ride, Birdwatching and visiting the pygmies
Day12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After an early morning breakfast, we transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route arriving in the afternoon for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. It is the only place in Uganda that supports massive herds of “impalas” Kampala city derives its name from here. Other antelopes easily seen are topi, bushbuck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa waterbuck and Bofore reedbuck. Buffalos, warthogs, bush-pigs and hippopotamus and many others. you can also enjoy the walking safari for birdwatching.
Day13: Transfer to Kampala Entebbe for departure
After an early morning breakfast, we go for a nature walk escorted by a ranger guide in search for wildlife. In this walk we are more likely to see a number of mammals including the Eland (the biggest antelope in East Africa), Bush buck, Zebra, Buffalo, Bush pig, Hyena, Impala, Reedbuck and a variety of bird species like the Papyrus gonolake, Lyrac breasted roller, and kockieflancorine among.drive back to Entebbe with lunch en-route and stop at the Equator for photos, arriving in the afternoon and drive straight to the airport for your flight. the drive will take us around 4-6hrs.
