Detailed itinerary of the safari tour

Day 1: Transfer from the airport to Volcanoes national park.
Upon your arrival at the airport, our safari guide will pick you up, brief you about the tour safari and drive you for to Kigali for a city excursion where you will visit the local markets including the genocide centers, and later hit the road to Volcanoes National Park. You shall reach the park, check in to your hotel, have a delicious dinner, and overnight rest. Meal plan; Dinner

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and a visit to ibyiwachu village.
You’ll wake up, have breakfast, and set off to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of your memorable gorilla-tracking adventure. You will be assigned a ranger guide to lead you as you head deep into the forest along the rugged terrains in search of amazing creatures. You shall also get to enjoy views of other wildlife species inclusive of birds and primates. After the encounter, you shall return to your hotel for lunch and later pay a visit to ibyiwachu village for a cultural experience of the Rwandan people. You’ll then return to your lodge for dinner and a night’s stay. Meal plan; All meals included

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in volcanoes national park and a transfer to Lake Kivu
On this day, you will wake up, have breakfast and commence the golden monkey trekking activity within volcanoes national park. During the trek, you will spot other primates inclusive of bird species like Kungwe Apaliser, Shelley crimson wing, and, Grauer’s Warbl among others. You will then return to the lodge for lunch and then embark on a 2-hour drive to lake kivu where you shall arrive at your lodge, check in, have dinner, and overnight rest. Day 4: Boat cruise on Lake Kivu and a visit to Nyamirundi Island
You will wake up, have breakfast and embark on a boat ride on the fresh waters of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is located in a relaxing environment and is prolific with bird species such as kingfishers, pelicans, and cranes that will add up to your bird viewing experience. You will return to the lodge for lunch and later pay a visit to Nyamirundi island to learn more about coffee making in Rwanda. Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda
On day 5, you will wake up, have an early breakfast and our driver will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda. During the journey, you will enjoy beautiful views of terrain rolling hills with terraced landscapes. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you will have lunch and head in for a boat ride on the lake that will reward you with views of different bird species on the many small islands around the lake. You shall then return to the lodge, check in, have dinner, and overnight rest. Meal plan; All meals included

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
For day 6, you will have a leisurely breakfast and then commence on an approximate 2-hour journey to Bwindi’s impenetrable national park. Once you arrive at the park, you will check in to your lodge, have lunch and spend the rest of the day in leisure as you await dinner and an overnight stay. Meal plan; All meals included.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s impenetrable national park
After your morning breakfast, you will head in for a briefing at the park headquarters about the gorilla trekking adventures activity. You will be accompanied by a trained game ranger who will lead you to the forest in search of the rare intriguing giants. During this activity, you will not only spot the gorillas but also spot other wildlife creatures like primates such as blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-checked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, and various bird species. After the gorilla trek, you shall return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight rest. Meal plan; All meals included.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After having a leisurely breakfast, you will depart Bwindi’s impenetrable national park for Queen Elizabeth national park on a 210-kilometer drive passing via the Ishasha sector which is famous for the rare tree-climbing lions. While at the Ishasha sector, you will also spot creatures like buffaloes, leopards, Kob, and topis on the plains of the area, you shall then arrive at your lodge, check in and have a relaxation as you await dinner and overnight stay. Day 9: Morning game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

After a morning breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park for an early morning game drive where you will be on the search for the wildlife species like elephants, Lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, antelopes, leopards, and many others. After the morning game drive animal viewing activity, you shall return to the lodge, have a delicious lunch and proceed for a leisurely boat cruise on the 32-kilometer-long natural Kazinga channel that links Lake Edward to Lake George. During the boat launch, you will spot other wildlife creatures like hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, and bird species like cormorants, kingfishers, herons, hamerkops, starlings, and martial eagles among others. After the boat cruise, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest. Meal plan; All meals included.

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On day 10 of your adventure, you will have breakfast and proceed on another 2-to-3-hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park which is a famous area for Chimpanzee tracking and also a perfect habitat for numerous bird and primate species. You will arrive at the park, check in to your lodge, have lunch, and later in the evening go for a nature walk around your lodge depending on your wish and preference. Later, you’ll return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan; All meals included.

Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale Forest National Park
Day 11, you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and proceed to Kibale Park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking activity. You will then penetrate into the forest under the guidance of an armed ranger for this adventurous chimpanzee trek as you search for this great ape that you shall encounter as they swing from one branch to another.

You will also gain views of other primates like the colobus monkeys, baboons, and others during the activity. You will return back to the lodge for lunch and later go to Bigodi Swamp for a swamp walk in search of the different bird species. You’ll then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 12: Transfer to the airport for departure
On the day last day of your safari adventure, you will have a leisurely breakfast, and check out of the lodge and our guide will drop you off at the airport for departure depending on the time of your scheduled flight.
