Day 1.The 4 days Mt kenya trek starts with the morning breakfast. After breakfast, you will drive from Nairobi through central Kenya agricultural area to Nanyuki with a brief stop over at the Equator and then proceed to town where you pick the other mountain team of cook and porters. You will then take 1 hour drive to Sirimon Park gate 2,650 m. where the trekking start. After clearing with the park authority, we will start the hike through the forest accompanied by the guides, cook and porters to Old Moses camp 3,300 m. arriving in the afternoon. 9 km. (3-4 hrs walk).
Day 2: After breakfast, hike through the moorland viewing high attitude flowers, animals and birds species up the Mackinders valley to Shipton camp 4,200 m. at the bottom of the peaks. 14 km. (6-7 hrs walk POLE POLE).this is were the vegetation zone will end and start viewing the animals at a high end
Day 3 of Mt Kenya trek
After an early tea/coffee, you’ll start the climb up leaving the vegetation zone and walk on the loose scree for 3 hrs. climb up to Lenana Peak 4,985 m. for sunrise and taking pictures. After sunrise, you descend down to meet the team on the way to Mintos camp where you stop for breakfast. After breakfast, you continue with the hike down on Chogoria route viewing the fascinating Gorges valley to Mt Kenya Bandas for hot shower, dinner and overnight. 2km. (12-15 hrs walk.
Day 4. After an early breakfast at 7.00 am, you will meet with the crews as you wish them a farewell, then take 2 hrs. walk through the forest to meet the transport vehicle through the forest to Chogoria village and then drive round the Eastern slopes of the mountain heading back to Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon.
End of the 4 days Mt Kenya trek.

Sleeping bags, Rucksack and a small day pack, energy bars and snacks, Hiking boots and a light trainers shoes, Flashlight (Head torch), warm jacket, Balaclava (woolen hat), several pairs of warm socks, a pair of gloves, Rain jacket (Poncho) and a pair of water proof trousers, fleeces or warm sweaters, 2 liters reusable water bottles (or CamelBak backpack), walking sticks, gaiters, light toiletry articles, sanitizers, essential first aid kit, and other personal items.
