4days Mikumi safari and boat cruise takes you to Mikumi National Park and Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) are the first and last stops on this safari, which begins and concludes in Dar es Salaam. You will participate in a variety of activities on this tour, including wildlife game drives, bird watching, boat cruises, guided nature walks, scenic drives, and others.
Mikumi safari is simply accessible by road and is home to many different animals, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elands, impalas, waterbucks, reedbucks, warthogs, yellow baboons, lions, and hyenas. Probably the only traditional safari to Tanzania’s Southern Circuit is this 4-day trip through the Selous and Mikumi. Day to day to Nyerere national park and Mikumi
Day 1:Drive from Dar-Es-Salaam to Mikumi for afternoon walking safari
You will leave Dar es Salaam after breakfast for a 6-hour journey to Mikumi National Park. Making stops along the way if you want to explore more Tanzanian local villages that are located alongside the road. Arrive in Mikumi in time for lunch, then enjoy a brief rest before embarking on a 2-hour walking safari through Mikumi National Park with an armed park ranger to keep you safe. On the walking safari, you can expect to see zebras, giraffes, elephants, impalas, wildebeests, warthogs, monkeys, and a variety of bird species. After that, you will return to your lodge for leisure and relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and transfer to Selous Game reserve
After breakfast, depart from the hotel for an early morning game drive in Mikumi, where you will be able to observe the early risers, especially large cats like lions and leopards, as well as other unusual species when they are actively hunting. You may witness elephant families, herds of giraffes, impalas, and antelopes, lions, wildebeests, buffalos, and a great number of zebras, wild birds, and crocodiles, among other things. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you go on a 6-hour trip through Tanzania’s most un-spoilt places, arriving in the evening at Selous Game Reserve. Check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay upon arrival.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise
Breakfast at the lodge before heading for the Selous Wildlife Reserve gates to witness wildlife in Africa’s largest game reserve. Enjoy nature game drives in the vast game reserve in search of birds and animals. Expect to see gazelles, giraffes, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, kudus, and zebras, as well as African wild dogs, who are among the most endangered of all.
Selous was named after the late Frederick Selous, a well-known European explorer, and eventually became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Selous Game Reserve, roughly the size of Switzerland, is an untouched African wilderness with a unique ecology that includes notable savannah trees, undulating savannah grassland plains, and rocky outcrops thought to have been formed by the Rufiji River many years ago. Big cats such as leopards and lion prides can also be found in Selous. You return to the lodge for Lunch after the wildlife drive.
Enjoy a boat ride down the Mighty Rufiji River in the afternoon. Crocodiles, hippos, white colobus monkeys, and a variety of birds, including fish eagles, pied kingfishers, and gigantic kingfishers, congregate here to quench their thirst. Crocodiles use here to hunt for prey, and if you’re lucky, you could observe some animal activity. After watching the sunset, you will return to your hotel or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning walking safari and transfer back to Dar es Salaam
IMPALA IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, go on a guided on a walking tour through the Selous Game Reserve by an armed ranger. This is an exceptional chance to get up close and personal with wildlife while walking through the African bush. After the walking safari, you will return to Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon in which you will be dropped off at the hotel for leisure, bringing this safari to a close.
