Then it’s on to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking and the Batwa Trail experience. This safari is intended to last four days, however we are willing to alter it to your preferences

Detailed 4 days mid-range golden monkey and gorilla trekking itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from airport and transfer to Volcanoes National park

When you arrive, you will be picked up at the airport. Then will take a short city tour of Kigali, including significant historic and cultural sites like as the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Kigali Craft Markets, Kandt National Museum, and Presidential Museum, depending on the time. Following this adventure, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park and check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Golden monkey tracking in volcanoes and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest

Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters after breakfast for an orientation to the golden monkeys and your trekking equipment. You will be briefed what to expect from the hike as well as the expected code of conduct while in the jungle.

Following the briefing, your ranger guide will accompany you into the jungle to look for Golden Monkeys, as well as law enforcement to aid if you encounter menacing wild buffaloes and elephants.
The golden monkeys are more active than the gorillas, and you will be following them as they feed and walk around. They eat bamboo shoots, as well as fruits, plants, and insects on occasion. When you find them, spend an hour gazing at them and taking pictures and videos.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi

Meet the driver guide for a ride to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules after an early breakfast. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to travel with, and you will begin your tour in the jungle with an expert park guide.

Because gorillas wander about in search of food, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours. When the mountain gorillas are discovered, you are permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat to learn more about their behavior and habits, observe them feeding, breastfeeding, and grooming young ones, snap photos, and record the moments to show people back home after the safari.

You will return to the starting site after an hour with the gorillas, where you will be awarded an acknowledgment for your participation in gorilla trekking. Return to the lodge for some relaxation.You embark on an escorted community walk on the Batwa path in Bwindi in the evening to learn about the villagers’ livelihoods.

You will visit a traditional herbalist to learn how to prepare native medicine to treat a variety of human issues, a blacksmith to see how he makes common objects, and a brewery to learn how to make local beer using traditional methods. Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali for departure back home

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge today, take a scenic drive back to Kigali city. Depending on the time of your flight, continue to the airport for your return flight home or to the hotel for the night stay which marks the end of the remarkable 4 days golden monkey and Gorilla trekking

Brief information about Volcanoes and Bwindi

Volcanoes National park

Golden monkey and Gorilla Trekking safari will cover Volcanones The park’s official English name is Volcanoes National Park, and its official French name is Parc National des Volcans. Volcanoes National Park is located in Rwanda’s Ruhengeri area, about a two-hour drive from Kigali. This area is made up of 160 square kilometers of bamboo and rain forest.

It is situated in the districts of Kabale, Kanungu, and Kisoro in Uganda. The ancient woodland is surrounded by heavily produced agricultural fields that were once tropical forests.
The main attraction in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the mountain gorillas. The park’s many zones are home to an estimated 400 mountain gorillas, making it a popular tourist attraction. Mountain gorillas live in these sectors, which are spread across the park and home to a number of fascinating gorilla families.
