Day 1: Transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi, afternoon game drive
On the first day of your safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport and driven to Mikumi National Park via the Dar es Salaam-Morogoro highway. The park is located within the Uluguru Mountains of the Ancient Eastern Arc Mountains to the east and the Great Rift Valley Escarpments to the west. Driving time from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi is 5 to 6 hours. You will arrive in the afternoon and settle into the lodge for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, go on a game drive to witness elephants, lions, wild dogs, zebras, hyenas, buffalo, wildebeest, eland, hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. More than 300 bird species have been identified, including Eurasian migrants such as the red-billed oxpecker, marabou stork, and lilac-breasted roller. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning walking safari, game drive and Masaai cultural exploration
After breakfast, go on a 2-hour walking safari through Mikumi National Park with an armed park ranger to keep you safe. On the walking safari, you can expect to see zebras, giraffes, elephants, impalas, wildebeests, warthogs, monkeys, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitats
After the walking safari, go on a game drive to see more of Mikumi National Park, which is part of the greater Selous Ecosystem, together with the Selous Game Reserve, and is home to a diverse range of bird and mammal species. There’s also a chance you’ll witness a lion climbing a tree trunk.
Explore Masai communities in the evening to learn about the Masai people. Learn a lot from Masai people, such as how their families live, how they marry, and the types of business activities they engage in to save money for living expenses. Following this exhilarating excursion, you will return to the resort for supper and sleep.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Sadaani national park
After an early breakfast, go on an early morning wildlife drive in Mikumi National Park to watch nocturnal creatures and predator-prey interplay. Following the picnic lunch, you will be driven to Saadani National Park, with stops for sightseeing and a game drive en route. Arrive at Saadani for dinner and an overnight stay at the resort at sunset.

Day 4: Game drive and Boat cruise
After breakfast, go on a morning game drive to see some of the early risers and some of the nocturnal species return to their hiding places. You could be lucky enough to see some of the park’s large predators, such as lions, swing into action to catch their prey as you explore. Among the species you will see are lions, zebras, spotted hyenas, sable antelopes, buffaloes, big-eyed Rondo Galago, elephants, waterbucks, wildebeests, warthogs, giraffes, and hartebeests.
After lunch, go on a boat ride safari. Saadani National Park is remarkable in that it is Tanzania’s only park that extends all the way to the Indian Ocean, creating an enthralling habitat where land and sea collide. The boat safari follows the Wami River through the park until it touches the ocean. You will encounter a variety of wildlife species in their natural habitat as you sail along the river, including hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species that inhabit the riverbanks. Elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and other creatures have been spotted drinking from the river.
The boat safari is also a great way to see the stunning grandeur of Saadani National Park, which includes rich riverine forests, savannas, and clean beaches. There are also a variety of other activities available, such as birding tours and visits to fishing settlements. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight in the evening.

Day 5: Beach relaxation and transfer back to Dar es Salaam
You will have a full day at leisure as well as walking safaris along the Indian Ocean beach accompanied by an armed ranger. Elephants, antelopes, lions, leopards, giraffes, yellow baboons, Lichtenstein’s hartebeests, blue wildebeests, colobus monkeys, hippos, gazelles, and other animals are common. Saadani is a wonderful destination to visit because its white beach and turquoise sea shimmer alluringly under the tropical heat. Traditional dhows drift slowly by with billowing white sails, while Swahili fishermen cast their nets against a stunning red sunrise. Sunbathe in Sadaani beach at your leisure. In the evening, you will be transported back to Dar es Salaam and dropped off at your accommodation, bringing this safari to a close.
