1
Arrive Entebbe — Transfer to Lake Mburo
Airport pickup and scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your professional safari guide for the drive southwest to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda's compact gem of a reserve. The drive passes through the lush Ugandan countryside, crossing the equator where you can stop for the classic photo opportunity. Arrive at your lodge in time for an optional evening game drive or boat safari on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and a spectacular array of waterbirds as the sun sets over the acacia-dotted savannah.
Mihingo Lodge or Rwakobo Rock
2
Lake Mburo Game Drive — Transfer to Bwindi
Morning game drive at Lake Mburo, then drive to Bwindi.
Start your morning with an exhilarating game drive through Lake Mburo National Park, the only park in southern Uganda where you can spot zebras, elands, and impalas grazing alongside towering giraffes recently reintroduced to the park. The savannah landscape dotted with rocky outcrops and euphorbia candelabra trees provides a dramatic backdrop for wildlife photography. After lunch, depart for the long but spectacular drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the dramatic Kigezi Highlands — often called the "Switzerland of Africa" for its steeply terraced green hills. Arrive at your forest lodge and enjoy a briefing about tomorrow's gorilla trek.
Buhoma Lodge or Gorilla Forest Camp
3
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
The highlight — tracking mountain gorillas in the impenetrable forest.
After an early breakfast, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Rangers assign you a habituated gorilla family and experienced trackers lead your small group into the dense, misty depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The trek through ancient rainforest draped in moss and ferns is an adventure in itself, with the anticipation building as you follow fresh gorilla trails. When you finally encounter the gorilla family, you are granted one precious hour to observe these gentle giants up close — watching the silverback patriarch, playful juveniles, and tender mothers cradling their infants in one of nature's most profound wildlife experiences.

4
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP — Afternoon Game Drive
Drive north to Queen Elizabeth NP for an afternoon safari.
Depart Bwindi after breakfast and drive north through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions that lounge in the branches of ancient fig trees. Continue to the northern sector of the park and check in to your safari lodge on the Mweya Peninsula overlooking the Kazinga Channel. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive across the park's open savannah plains, searching for elephants, buffalo herds, warthogs, and an impressive array of antelope species against the backdrop of the distant Rwenzori Mountains.
Mweya Safari Lodge or similar
5
Morning Game Drive — Return to Kampala/Entebbe
Final morning safari before departure.
Wake early for a sunrise game drive through the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, when predators are most active and the golden morning light creates magical conditions for photography. Spot lions, hyenas, and large herds of Uganda kob on the open grasslands while fish eagles call from the treetops. After a hearty breakfast back at the lodge, begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping at the equator crossing for souvenirs. Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in time for your evening departure flight, taking with you memories of an extraordinary Ugandan safari.
Day ends at Entebbe Airport
