1
Arrive Entebbe — Transfer to Fort Portal
Airport pickup and scenic drive to the Kibale region.
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your safari guide for the journey west to Fort Portal, a picturesque town in the shadow of the legendary Rwenzori Mountains. The drive takes you through lush tea plantations, tropical forests, and past stunning crater lakes that dot the landscape like emerald jewels. Stop at the equator for photos and a demonstration of the Coriolis effect before continuing through Uganda's beautiful heartland. Arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park in the late afternoon and settle in for the evening.

2
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Full-day primate experience in Africa's primate capital.
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest National Park, often called the "Primate Capital of the World" for its extraordinary concentration of 13 primate species. Join a small group led by experienced trackers into the ancient rainforest, following the hoots and screams of wild chimpanzee communities through a cathedral of towering trees. Spend a thrilling hour observing a habituated chimp family as they swing through the canopy, groom each other, and use tools to crack open nuts. Along the trail, encounter red colobus monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys in one of Africa's richest primate habitats.

3
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP — Kazinga Channel
Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP and afternoon boat cruise.
Depart Kibale and drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's most visited national park spanning nearly 2,000 square kilometers of savannah, wetlands, and forest. Check in to your lodge on the Mweya Peninsula and enjoy lunch with stunning views over the park. In the afternoon, board a boat for the famous Kazinga Channel cruise, gliding along the 32-kilometer natural waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Marvel at enormous pods of hippos, massive Nile crocodiles, and herds of elephants and buffalo drinking at the water's edge while pelicans, skimmers, and fish eagles provide a constant aerial show.

4
Game Drives — Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions
Full-day game drives including the famous Ishasha sector.
Begin with an early morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, one of the best areas in Uganda for spotting lions, leopards, and large herds of elephants and buffalo. The open grasslands teem with Uganda kob, waterbuck, and topi, while martial eagles and secretary birds patrol the skies above. After lunch, drive south to the legendary Ishasha sector, world-famous for its population of tree-climbing lions that drape themselves across the branches of ancient fig trees in a behavior seen almost nowhere else on earth. Spend the afternoon scanning the fig trees and open plains for these remarkable big cats before settling into your lodge for the night.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp or similar
5
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Scenic drive to Bwindi and preparation for gorilla trekking.
Depart Ishasha and drive through the breathtaking Kigezi Highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting one of the oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests in Africa. The winding road climbs through steeply terraced hillsides where local Bakiga farmers tend crops on impossibly steep slopes, creating a patchwork of green that stretches to the horizon. Arrive at your forest lodge perched on the edge of the impenetrable jungle and attend an evening briefing about your gorilla trekking experience the following morning. Listen to the sounds of the forest as darkness falls — a chorus of frogs, insects, and nocturnal creatures.

Gorilla Trekking — Transfer to Entebbe
Morning gorilla trek followed by transfer to Entebbe for departure.
Rise before dawn for the pinnacle of your safari — mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After your briefing at park headquarters, follow expert trackers deep into the ancient rainforest, pushing through dense vegetation and climbing misty hillsides until you find a habituated gorilla family. The magical hour you spend with these magnificent creatures — watching a 200-kilogram silverback calmly observing your group while juveniles play and tumble around him — is an experience that redefines what it means to connect with nature. After the trek, enjoy a celebratory lunch before transferring to Entebbe by road or optional domestic flight for your departure.
Day ends at Entebbe Airport

“We've been on safaris in Kenya and Tanzania, but Uganda stole our hearts. The gorilla trek was profoundly moving and the chimp tracking in Kibale was thrilling. Six days was ideal — not too rushed, not too long.”
