12 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Safari

Your guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport and transfers you to your lakeside hotel. Evening briefing over dinner about the 12-day adventure ahead, with views over Lake Victoria.

Morning drive north with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot — the only place in Uganda to see wild rhinos! Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest and most dramatic park. Evening relaxation at the lodge.

Early morning game drive on the northern bank — lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and Uganda kob. Afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of the thundering Murchison Falls. Hippos, crocodiles and over 450 bird species line the banks.

Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park in the far northeast — one of Africa's most pristine and untouched wilderness areas. Set against the rugged Morungole and Napore mountains, Kidepo is a hidden gem with extraordinary wildlife density. Settle into the lodge and enjoy sunset over the Narus Valley.

Full day exploring Kidepo's two valleys. The Narus Valley hosts lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and cheetahs. Drive to the Kidepo Valley to search for ostriches, bat-eared foxes and large herds of Jackson's hartebeest. Optional visit to the Karamojong cultural village for an authentic tribal experience.

Depart Kidepo and drive south through the Karamoja region to Sipi Falls on the slopes of Mount Elgon. This trio of spectacular waterfalls cascading off volcanic cliffs offers breathtaking views. Evening nature walk to the main falls with a local guide.

Scenic cross-country drive westward through lush tea plantations and rolling hills to Fort Portal, gateway to Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive and settle into the lodge surrounded by tropical forest. Afternoon at leisure or optional crater lakes hike with stunning views.

Morning briefing at Kanyanchu, then trek into the rainforest to find habituated chimpanzee communities. Spend up to 4 hours observing chimps swinging, feeding and socialising. Also spot red colobus monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Afternoon optional Bigodi Wetland walk for birding and primates.

Drive south through the scenic Rwenzori foothills to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon game drive on the Kasenyi Plains — lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kob and warthogs roam the open savannah against a backdrop of the distant Mountains of the Moon.

Morning Kazinga Channel boat cruise — hippos, buffaloes, elephants and incredible birdlife right from the boat. Afternoon drive to the Ishasha sector to search for the famous tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees — a sight found almost nowhere else on Earth.

Early morning drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Briefing at the park headquarters, then trek into the dense forest with expert trackers. Spend a magical hour with a habituated gorilla family — watching silverbacks, mothers and babies in their natural habitat. A truly life-changing, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe (or optional domestic flight from Kihihi airstrip). Stop at the equator crossing for photos and a souvenir! Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight. End of an incredible 12-day Uganda safari!
